Important news about Mrs Jobson
24 October 2018
Dear Parents and carers
I am writing to you to let you know that Mrs Jobson tendered her resignation as headteacher to the governing body. It is fair to say, we were surprised but we have had a little time to come to terms with the decision and we know we must now move forward.
Mrs Jobson has been headteacher at the academy for over 6 years and during this time she has worked wholeheartedly and professionally to improve the life chances of the children. She has decided that she is now ready for another professional challenge and will be leaving the academy in April 2019. The governing body is pleased that Mrs Jobson has given us sufficient time to find a strong replacement and clearly wants us to find the very best person possible. I think it is fair to say that the academy has been her life and she holds it close to her heart.
The governing body has begun the process of recruiting her successor. All of our governors, including the parent governors, will be involved in the recruitment process. A national advert will be issued soon and it is anticipated that interviews will be held and an appointment made before the end of this year. This will provide time for the new colleague to give notice from their current role and for them to have a short hand over period with Mrs Jobson before they commence their duties at the beginning of the summer term.
I appreciate that any change of headteacher can be a little unsettling but please be assured that Mrs Jobson and the governing body will be doing all we can to make the transfer of responsibilities as smooth as possible. The school community will ensure Mrs Jobson is given the farewell she deserves when the sad day in April 2019 finally arrives.
Mrs Jobson will be holding holding an assembly for the children this Friday when she will explain her decision and what the school and governing body will be doing to find a new headteacher.
