Attendance/Absence

Good attendance and punctuality support the route to a good education.

As in everything we do, we have high expectations for good attendance and punctuality!

Children who attend 100% are 5 times more likely to work at, or above, the expected standard.

School starts at 8:45am and the doors close at 8.55am. Registration takes place in the first few minutes in class. If your child comes after 8.55am you will need to drop your child off at the main office. You will be asked to sign your child in using the inventory system and your child’s late mark will be recorded in the register.

If your child is ill, we ask that you please ring the office on the morning of their absence. This needs to be done on each day they are off school unless they are absent long term.  As always you are very welcome to consult with us for advice on attendance with certain conditions. Please note that we are happy to administer medicines but these need to be signed for at the school office.

We make sure to celebrate good attendance – we celebrate children who achieve 96% attendance every term with a special reward. Classes who get over 96% attendance during the week get announced in our weekly assembly and receive a class treat.
