Visits to places of worship

We love to bring our learning in R.E. to life by visiting places of worship throughout the year.
Children in Reception visited the local church to learn all about the Christmas story and this week, children in Year 2 will hear about the story of Easter with Father Wheelhouse over at St James’ Church.
Our Year 6 and Year 2 children visited Bradford Grand Mosque, where they learned all about the Islam faith, and the beliefs and traditions recognised by Muslims. They loved getting to go inside such a splendid building! They were given a tour of the building and learned about the different parts of the mosque and why they are important.
Year 3 and Year 5 have been to see the Shree Lakshmi Narayan Hindu Temple, which is the largest temple in the North. They learned all about the special offerings Hindu people make to their Gods, and what each one of them represents. It was a feast for the eyes to see how beautifully decorated everything was and what a special place the temple is.
